October 30, 2009

John called me as I waded my way across the cricket pitch to Lula’s preschool in torrential rain. Tomorrow we are having people around for dinner – Claude will be having his in Lula’s pink wendy house if she gets her way. He will be wearing a prince outfit, she a bridal veil made of her christening blanket and a Rambo hairband. Explaining to her that Claude already has a girlfriend and wants …

‘So, Lula, do you know what we’re doing next year?’ (Next year could just as well be in five minutes to her. She thinks her birthday is every single day, that Christmas is next week and that Claude, her favourite person in the whole world is coming to stay in her Pink House at the …

About me

My name is Sarah Alderson and I'm an author and screenwriter. I write young adult fiction for Simon & Schuster (UK & US) and adult fiction for Pan Macmillan under the pen name Mila Gray.

I started this blog in 2009, before I became an author and it documented our journey from quitting our jobs in London to travelling around the world and settling in Bali where I became a full time novelist and screenwriter.

We left Bali at the end of 2014 for a stint back in London before we embark on our next adventure.
