November 10, 2010

Something has happened to me. Something truly quite shocking. It’s like good kids who get sent to Feltham and come out knife wielding crack addicted nutjobs. I am that kid. And Ubud is my Feltham. And after four weeks I’ve changed. I think I’m a nutjob. Just not a knife-wielding crack addicted one. I have …

I’m having a ceremony for the opening of the clinic, my friend Meg tells me. She is opening Ubud’s first proper colonic clinic. (I’m not sure what proper means? That they have EU certified hoses or something?) I’ve no idea what it will involve she says, but please come. You will have to give a …

The girl is tap tap tapping her leg whilst the man is reading out his graphic sex scene involving bobbing breasts and excited members. I am biting down on my bottom lip trying so hard not to laugh that I think I might give myself an oral piercing. We are in a workshop on writing …

About me

My name is Sarah Alderson and I'm an author and screenwriter. I write young adult fiction for Simon & Schuster (UK & US) and adult fiction for Pan Macmillan under the pen name Mila Gray.

I started this blog in 2009, before I became an author and it documented our journey from quitting our jobs in London to travelling around the world and settling in Bali where I became a full time novelist and screenwriter.

We left Bali at the end of 2014 for a stint back in London before we embark on our next adventure.
